Savoir Saturday Volume 8
Welcome to Savoir Saturday where I am sharing a quick summary of my week, plus recommendations and shopping tips.
Our Sunday return from New York City was hampered by severe storms, leading to significant delays. Despite rebooking a later flight to enjoy a relaxed morning, a mechanical issue further delayed our arrival until nearly midnight. The airport, typically quiet late at night, was overflowing with stranded travelers. Having spent countless hours there myself, I deeply felt their frustration.
On another note, do you ever get travel bloat? I tend to when I travel and always have these on hand, and they work quickly. I never travel without them.

If you do much traveling, I would urge you to look into getting an American Express Platinum card. There is a yearly fee, but for us, it is so worth it. The Centurion Lounges are lovely and give you access to food and beverages at no additional cost, including alcohol if you choose. They even have ice cream bars with freshly churned ice cream. We both love it for a quieter place to work while traveling or just relaxing before our flight. They are not in all airports, so check and see if it is worthwhile for where you travel to or from.
WHAT I DID THIS WEEK:
- Unpacked and did a small Spring closet cleanout. I like to do this every Spring and late Fall/ early Winter.
- Renovations started yesterday on our master bathroom and laundry room—the last two areas of our home being renovated. I’ll be sharing much more about this in the coming weeks. I’ll be so happy when it’s finished; in the meantime, living in different spaces and moving things everywhere is unpleasant, but worth it in the end.
- Curated this week’s bestsellers
- Enjoyed dinner with girlfriends at a new place called Paloma Cocktails. It’s a small bites restaurant and was better than I expected.
- I made this Penna Alla Vodka that is super easy and I have been making since Covid hit. It is delicious and comes together in 30 minutes. Simmer longer for more depth of flavor.
Weekly Style
This week’s Spring style is sophisticated and can easily go from day to night. This jacket is currently on sale for 25% and is a linen blend, making it a great choice for Spring and Summer.

Quick Reads & Recommendations
- Tips for sleeping on flights
- Printemps just opened their very first US store in NYC
- Looking for a quick getaway? I thought these were great recommendations.
- This article on aging really resonated with me. Sometimes, I feel like I don’t age, and then suddenly, I feel a decade older. Does that ever happen to you?
Noteworthy Finds, Sales and Shops
- Frame is offering 25% off sitewide, a great deal considering the higher price point
- Nordstrom Rack has a flash event for Kut from the Cloth, a favorite affordable denim option. I purchased the Nicole style last month and have been wearing on repeat. Straight-leg with really really good stretch and runs true to size.
- An even more affordable brand of jeans just went on sale. I have shared these multiple times in the black wash and they are only $15 currently. The fit is exceptional. And they wash really well. Not as stretchy as the Kut ones, but still have stretch.
- Jenni Kane is offering $100 off with their annual Sweater Style Event. While this is investment cashmere, I can tell you from experience, this brand is exceptional. I just purchased the cashmere Fisherman Sweater. I have it in two other colors and just purchased it in navy.
- My all-time favorite affordable tees are on sale. This brand washes so well and is always a cotton blend. I love ATM tees, and while these are more investment tees, they are currently 25% off at Bloomingdale’s. I like to mix high and low styles. The ATM tees are 100% cotton with no synthetic fibers.
- I discovered the cutest little jewelry boutique in SoHo last week. Gabriela Caballos offers a charm bar experience in SoHo, New York, where customers can create personalized jewelry pieces, with a focus on non-tarnish, hypoallergenic, and sustainable jewelry. I made a charm bracelet for $65. I thought it would also make a fabulous gift for someone as it can be personalized for anyone. I so wanted a Paris charm but they only had a croissant. The beauty of this is that it can be added to at any time.

Appreciate you being here. Wishing you all a fabulous week!
Until next week,
Kelly
