Savoir Saturday Volume 13

Welcome to Savoir Saturday Volume 13. Here, I share a curated selection of interesting reads, a French-inspired look to elevate your week’s style, must-see shopping finds, and a delightful friandise (treat).

Have you ever had those days, or in my case, weeks, where you just felt you were dragging the entire time? I keep thinking it’s the pollen, which has been horrible this season. All I’ve wanted to do this week is get back in bed, which is SO not me. I am not a napper. Once I am up, I stay up. As I’ve grown older, I’ve also started taking note of how I’m feeling, and I will no longer push myself to do things or say yes to things. It just isn’t worth it. And so, this week, I’ve given myself some grace and allowed myself to slow down for a moment. Instead of working around the clock, I have been organizing our home one room at a time. I know this isn’t for everyone, but I do enjoy spring cleaning and donating things that no longer serve us.

Our laundry room renovation is 95% complete, and I’m excited for it to be over. We had workers in our home 6 days a week for the last 4 weeks while we renovated our master bathroom and laundry room. It’s tiring to have people in your space constantly, primarily since I work from home. I’ll be sharing updates once everything is done. I am beyond excited to share it with you! These are the vanities I chose, and they look so good. Waiting for our mirrors and lighting to be installed.

Classic Outfit Inspiration

The interesting thing about Parisian style is that it isn’t just Parisian or French. This look is very timeless and classical, and while you would see women in France wearing something similar, you would also see this look in more nautical areas of the US. And that is what I love about classic style.

While rooted in French culture, timeless looks belong to everyone who embraces quality pieces that will stand the test of time over fast fashion. It also makes getting dressed much easier, as pieces can be incorporated into multiple styles seamlessly.

Favorite Things

these are a few ofmy favorite things fifth and paris
  • I just started using this gentle exfoliator and love how it makes my skin feel so smooth. I use it 2-3 times a week.

  • A friend turned me onto these disposable towels for cleansing your face. They are slightly rough (think paper towel vs tissue soft). I like that it has a little texture and gives an extra exfoliation, too.
  • If you love Mother Denim but not the price tag, check out these finds for 60% off.
  • Each week, I share my top consignment finds. These tend to sell quickly, so be sure to check them out. This week I am featuring The Row. This brand is high quality and piece typically selling around $300 to well over $1k. My finds are $45 to $150, multiple sizes shared.

My Friandise

(sweet treat)

Fresh flowers in the house are a must. I just love how they can transform a room. Early this Spring, I decided to plant several different flowering plants already in bloom, hoping to grow them all season long. I was pleasantly surprised that my hard work in the garden paid off and I was able to pick some for the house. It is such an easy thing to do, and it always elevates my mood. And trust me, I am no green thumb! If I can do this, so can you. The roses are from a friend’s rose bush. I’m definitely not talented enough for that! I grabbed some stems and baby’s breath to make the bouquet.
