Savoir Saturday Volume 11

Welcome to Savoir Saturday Volume 11. Here is where I share a curated selection of interesting reads, a French-inspired look to elevate your week’s style, must-see shopping finds, and a delightful friandise (treat).

This week flew by. We have had some issues with our bathroom renovation, which has been slightly frustrating. The tile we ordered for the bathroom floor was delivered incorrectly 3 times! At that point, I told my husband that I feel like the universe is telling us this is not our tile. And so Thursday night, we hopped in the car after work and looked for another option. We were lucky enough to find something we both loved that was in stock and that we could take with us. Problem solved. I can’t wait to share a full blog post about the before and after for our master bathroom and laundry room. It will look so luxe and high-end, but without the high-end price tag.

I really do love luxe things, but I am not one to spend money on every single thing I want. I love the challenge of putting a look together for less, still using quality finds. And while this time it wasn’t an outfit I was trying to recreate for less, the joy it brings me is still immense. So stay tuned for our bathroom reveal and how you can renovate your spaces without breaking the bank. Here is a photo right before the demolition started. You can see it is a nice size and we have lived with it like this for almost 4 years, because nothing is really wrong with it. We just wanted to utilize the space better and modernize it.

Master Bathroom Renovation Before

The team we have working here at home is truly lovely. Home renovations are challenging, at least for me, because people are constantly in your space, which I don’t love. I truly cherish my alone time, even when I am working. Stella, our Frenchie, still being a pit of a puppy, has nominated herself to be the welcoming committee every time she sees someone coming and going. It is adorable to see her face light up when they arrive, and they have all taken to her.

WEEKLY Style

what to wear, weekly style, french style, parisian style, french fashion, French outfits, tuckernuck jennings navy tweed jacket, zara striped sweater, kut from the cloth denim, kut from the clcoth jeans, mark and graham tote, susan shaw bracelet
Classic Outfit Inspiration

Chic, everyday staples that can go from a casual outing, to work, to an evening out. Navy and cream are two of my favorite colors to wear together. It looks expensive, giving off that old money aesthetic. These pieces can work year-round in your closet.

Pro tip: Purchase items that can be styled in multiple ways. I shared this exact tote in a previous weekly style because it’s a great tote that can go from the beach and vacation to work, lunch, and an evening out, with endless styling possibilities. Plus, it’s a great bag for under $100 and can be monogrammed, which I love. Would also make a great gift.

My Friandise

(sweet treat)

Do you have that friend who is always just so thoughtful? I am lucky enough to have two dear friends like this who I just adore. I was lucky to sneak in some early morning pickleball with several friends this week. It is hard for me to get away from work, so it is always such a treat when I get to see them and play. My friend Linda had made this banana bread, and I have been enjoying it all week. It is a lovely and thoughtful gesture that does not go unnoticed.
