Savoir Saturday Volume 12

Welcome to Savoir Saturday Volume 12. Here is where I share a curated selection of interesting reads, a French-inspired look to elevate your week’s style, must-see shopping finds, and a delightful friandise (treat).

Happy Easter! Where has this year gone? It feels like I was wearing winter coats last week. And the forecast is calling for high 80s Easter Sunday. The pollen here has been absolutely insane. I am not normally bothered by allergies of any sort, but this year I have been hit hard by the pollen, which is higher than usual. Everything is covered in that light green dust. Looking forward to the end of pollen season so I can start getting the outside set up. There’s no sense in doing it now, as I’ll wind up having to do it over again. But I do love seeing all of the trees and flowers blooming. I did, however, add these water-resistant Geranium flowers to our mailbox planter. I’ve been using them for three years now. They will last through the end of summer with minimal fading.

WEEKLY Style

Classic Outfit Inspiration

Red and white is such a classic combination for Spring and Summer. The scalloped trim neckline on this short sleeve sweater dresses it up. Pair with sailor denim and a gold sandal. I have these sandals and they are comfortable. They also make them in a flat sandal if a heel is not your style. Either way, they make for the perfect summer sandal.

This sweater would also look great with denim or navy trousers. And the gold button detail on these sailor jeans dresses them up, making them perfect for a more casual work look.

Favorite things

these are a few ofmy favorite things fifth and paris
  • I found this lightweight cardigan and tank that is under $55. It has an open stitch design and looks more expensive than it. I love how lightweight it is. Perfect for travel, too.

  • Several months back I was watching some TikTok videos about eye wrinkles being related to dehydration and how hyaluronic patches help. I bought several to try and found that these worked the best. I don’t use them daily but definitely use them when I want my makeup to look fresh and not settle. I have seen a noticeable difference in my eye lines since using.
  • I’ve been on the hunt for a white collander and was having a hard time finding one that wasn’t plastic. I just purchased this one and am in love. It is beautofully crafted and I have also used it for a fruit basket on the counter becasue it is that pretty. It’s just nder $30.
  • Each week, I share my top consignment finds. These tend to sell quickly, so be sure to check them out. This week I am featuring Max Mara jackets. If you know this brand, you know it is very expensive. My picks are all under $125.

My Friandise

(sweet treat)

Two of my favorite things are bulldogs and jewelry. So when I saw this bracelet with a bulldog medallion by one of my favorite jewelry designers, I knew I would want to add it to my collection. These pieces are all handcrafted here in the US and are surprisingly affordable. Susan Shaw is one of my all-time favorite jewelers. Her pieces are timeless and incredibly well-made. Each piece comes in a beautiful box and a velvet pouch. Whether for yourself or a gift, I would urge you to check out her jewelry collection. This is in no way sponsored. I purchased this bracelet, and it brought such a smile to my face when it arrived.
